American Eskimo Puppies
Offhand, American Eskimo puppies may seem high-maintenance, but once you learn its physical attributes and requirements, you’ll want to have these furry canines as your house pets.
The “Eskies” (the nickname for the pedigreed dogs) are not only loving, alert, and bouncy, but smart, and tenacious, too. With a bloodline descending from the White German Spitz, the American Eskimo is known for performing in circus acts, eventually winding up in homes of customers delighted with them.
Though the miniature breed measures from 12 to 15 inches only (and packs a weight of about 10 to 20 pounds), and the standard breed measures about 15 inches or more (and weighs 18 to 35 pounds), the American Eskimo can be a reliable watchdog.
This breed of pooch is highly trainable, especially with some positive reinforcements. When properly socialized, American Eskimo puppies make loyal, albeit mischievous pets. They’re nice to look at, and are great with kids. Eskies’ white fluffy coat (that’s heavy around the neck) helps resist dirt and protects the dog from severe weather.
The American Eskimo Dog requires ample attention and a firm trainer. Otherwise, it may will show disrupting behavior. It can be responsive and obedient, though, given proper training. To remain in tiptop shape, the American Eskimo dog needs to be exercised and fed preservative-free food laden with nutrients found in its native environment.
Dog chow of American Eskimo puppies must contain balanced nutrients suited for the breed’s nutritional requirements. As with most pedigreed dogs, they are notoriously prone to ailments like hip dysplasia and retinal disorders, making it all the more imperative to train them to eat natural or organic dog food which focuses on optimal cellular health and contains antioxidants.
